Because of the newfound knowledge I obtained in the Music Appreciation class, I have a new perception of “classical” music. I now know that classical music is not one of my favorite types of music. I prefer to listen to music from the Romantic period. I prefer this music because it is more exotic, stormy, mystifying, and violent than the elegance of the music from the Classical period. Because of the new state of mind I have about Western Europe concert music, I appreciate it more. As a result, I now have an “A” average in the course. I highly recommend taking a music appreciation class.
