Harper Lee portrays a father, Atticus and how he gets himself and his children through tough times, in her novel To Kill A Mockingbird. This essay shows the relationship between Atticus and my mother. Like Atticus, my mother does not feel that all blacks are evil, and that all of them lie. She holds no prejudices against them, just like Atticus. Unlike Atticus, my mother does not listen to both sides of a story when it comes to family. She also does not try to explain things to me she feels I am too young to know about. My mother does not have prejudice against the blacks, neither does Atticus.
