The power in which he possesses begins to blind his judgement, goodness, and sensibility, and thereby causes the death of many innocent people. John Hale arrived in the town of Salem as the voice of authority regarding witches. When first reading about Hale, he gave the impression of being very wise and confident in the area of witches.
