The Call of the Wild The book I read for this month was entitled The Call of the Wild , The Call of the Wild is a story of a dog named Buck. Buck was a dog of good breeding, living in Santa Clara Valley, where it was always warm and the sun always shone. Since he was born, he was trained to be a house pet. He was used to a fancy and easy life. Then suddenly he was stolen from his home, and as the book quotes "thrust into the merciless life of the Artic north to endure hardship, bitter cold, and the savage lawlessnes of man and beast". After I finished reading the book, I got to the conclusion of what the story was about and what it actually meant. Buck was stolen from his home in sunny Santa Clara Valley, and taken to serve as a sled dog in the Artic north for those seeking gold. That was when Buck started to realize that there was more about life than just living fanc....
