The book The Last of the Mohicans was originally written by
James Fenimore Cooper in 1826. It was released to movie theaters in 1992,
and was directed by Michael Mann. The last of the Mohicans is an epic
adventure as well as a heart-warming romance portrayed in the wilderness
of the Adirondack region of Colonial New York. This work of historical
fiction was set during the third year of the last war between England and
France over possession of a country that ultimately would belong to
neither party.
The story has many interesting characters. The main character is
Hawkeye (Daniel Day-Lewis), he is a white man adopted by the
Mohican tribe. Hawkeye is madly in love with Cora Munro (Madeleine Stowe),
eldest daughter to a proud British Colonel. The romance between these to
escalate....
