Essay Galaxy - Cheever's "The Nanny Dilemma": Personal Reflection
Cheever's "The Nanny Dilemma": Personal Reflection
After having read the story by Susan Cheever, I am left with many
different thoughts and responses. One of the first thoughts that came into
my mind was after reading the section that stated "We teach our kids that
money can't buy love, and then we go right ahead and buy it for them-hiring
strangers to love them, because we have more important things to do." This
is a startling fact, our society is so wrapped up in becoming successful
and earning the big bucks, that we often forget about the greatest gift

become bigger and better, we are inadvertently losing sight of the values
of family, and in doing so we are promoting our children's kids to act in
the same manner.....
