the Streets by Stephen Crane mothers played an important factor. Mary
Johnson, the mother of Maggie, and Roxy, the mother of Tom Driscoll in Pudd’
nhead Wilson, were important characters and there characteristics of being
mothers are similar. Both acted like good mothers and believed they were
good mothers but truly they were not. They both were naive and both acted
as good mothers in public but held secrets within that would show there
mistakes as mothers. Roxy and Mary both raised there children badly and
were not good mothers.
Maggie a Girl of the Streets is about a girl, Maggie, who falls in
love with a boy. Maggie lives in a slum and the boy is of higher social
