Martin Luther King Jr. In this report, I am going to talk about a man who was a great civil rights leader in this Nation. A man who dedicated his life to trying to end racism, poverty, and war. He was a fighter for equality among blacks and whites alike. He changed the lives of many people, whites and blacks alike, and was a hero to hundreds of thousands of people. This man is Martin Luther King, Jr. "Martin Luther King, Jr., was born on January 15, 1929, in Atlanta, Georgia, and learned about racial discrimination at an early age. When he was 5 years old, his most frequent playmate was a white boy whos father owned a neighborhood grocery store. One day, out of the blue, the boy’s parents told Martin to go away and not play with their son any longer. Bewildered, Martin asked why. "Because we are white and you are colored," they said."
