Suburbia also looked like it dealt with the same stuff and I would have liked to have watched Slacker, but it was not at the store. Richard Linklater liked to work with stories of younger people. Dazed and Confused showed how youth in the mid seventies used drugs and alcohol to forget about their real life. Suburbia showed youth, but in the nineties. The characters used alcohol to hide from decision also. In the Newton Boys the youth knew what they wanted, to rob banks to fund their new lives, they too liked the fermented drink called alcohol.
