Male and Female Roles In Society The fact that I have two sisters and no brothers has definitely shaped my life in a positive way. I would have had a very different life if I had a brother. The Indian culture is based on very distinct roles for men and women. I have witnessed my cousins and family friends being subject to expectations as to how girls and boys should act. I disagree strongly with the idea that boys are taught to exhibit dominant behaviors such as strength development and competitiveness while girls are taught to be passive, emotional and talkative.
