Throughout our everyday lives we are bombarded with an array of advertisements. Whether it is the TV, radio, newspaper, or billboards, the goal of advertising is the same. The goal of most advertising is to twist the truth - or in other words, to deceive.
I will be analyzing the nine ads in our English book on pages 167 - 175. The first ad is about the cereal Shredded Wheat. This ad was published in 1913 and was appealing to the woman's upcoming right to vote. The ad uses this upcoming event to make the women realize that they have yet to have this freedom but in the mean time she can exercise the right to vote with her pocket book. Vote for Shredded Wheat? As the ad says, "Every biscuit is a vote for health, happiness, and domestic freedom - a vote for pure, clean....
