Grasshopper Dissection The grasshopper dissection was a very good experience for me. Not only did I learn the required criteria but I also learned to follow the Instructions. I almost ruined the specimen when I started to make an Incision in the side of the thorax instead of the bottom. I learned the hard way I almost ruined my specimen. I found this to be another interesting dissection. I had fun and learned at the same time. That’s what makes biology fun. The tools that we used to do the dissection were 1) a pair of Scissors, we used them to cut the specimen open and to expose the insides. 2) we used a dissecting tray to lay the specimen in while we were dissecting 3) we used a whole bunch of little pins to hold the specimen open and expose the insides. 4) we used a bit of water to wash the formaldehyd....
