There are two basic kinds of motion. If an object moves at a constant speed, covering the same distance each second without changing direction this is called uniformed motion. If the speed or direction of the object changes, then it is in accelerated motion.
Newtons First Law of Motion states that an object in motion tends to stay in motion. The law also states that an object at rest tends to stay at rest. This tendency to continue at rest or continue in motion is called inertia. A force ( a push or pull ) must be used to put a object at rest, put an object into motion, to stop a moving object, or change its motion while it is moving.
