The Bible The Bible has been a historical mystery for centuries. Very little facts have been uncovered in the origin of the Bible or the truth behind its authors. Not until 1993 on an archeological site in Dan has there been any solid evidence. A flat basalt stone with Aramaic letters etched into its surface had a reference to King David and it dated back to the ninth century BC. There has been no reference to David outside the pages of the bible and it was believed that he was a mere myth and invented by Hebrew scribes. Most of the Bible cannot be taken literally, for example, the story of the Creation. Augustine, the Christian theologian, argued that the creation of the day was not related to the sun or the concept of time because the sun was not created until the fourth “day”. Also the flood is another example of possible Biblical myth.....
