What is love? Where does it come from? These are just a couple of questions that Plato's Symposium attempts to answer. The Symposium is an account of the banquet given by a young poet Agathon, which was recollected and told by Apollodprus. There where six speeches spoken by Phaedrus, Pausanias, Eryximachus, Aristophanes, Agathon and finally Socrates. All of these six speeches given, was an attempt to define love to its fullest extent. One speech came closest to defining and answering the complex questions about love. Love is the desire find and infinitely please your soul mate, to understand another as you would yourself, to find your other half, and a completion resulting in a desireable wholeness.
