After reading William Shakespeares Romeo and Juliet, one concludes that the feud between the Montagues and the Capulets includes the entire families of both households, not only the young men. The feud, being a shared hatred between both families, is so bad that just the sight of either family would provoke a brawl that may even lead to death. In Act 1, Scene 1, during the brawl there is evidence of household involvement, when Old Capulet almost enters the fight. Also, during the Capulet party, when Tybalt sees Romeo, and wishes to execute him on the spot, we feel the intensity of the family hatred. After the death of Tybalt, Lady Capulet wishes to have vengeance for her nephews Tybalts death, and have Romeo killed.
