Their ratings are the highest of any shows on television. The actors are the most outrageous, entertaining, and controversial people one could imagine. And the writing....well, suffice it to say, were these shows scripted, someone would be up for a Pulitzer. Well, perhaps that is a bit of an exaggeration, but they are in fact one of the most interesting and debatable aspects of television. They are talk shows. Of all the unique facets capable of discussion, I have chosen to focus on two specific talk shows involving two specific lawsuits--The Jenny Jones show and its involvement with the Michigan v. Schmitz trial, and The Oprah Winfrey Show and its involvement with The Cattlemen v. Oprah Winfrey.
