The Safety Training Program The Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 was established to “ assure so far as possible every working man and woman in the nation safe and healthful working conditions and to preserve our human resources.” The act established three government agencies to administer and enforce the law: The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), The Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission and The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH).
