Dear Editor:
I would like to respond to your recent article concerning random drug testing. I believe that random drug tests violate a students constitutional right to privacy and should not be a mandatory part of the school system. A person should be able to be trusted without constantly being monitored. It is not the job of a school system to be enforcing laws that were not even broken on their property. And if a student is caught with an illegal substance in their body, it should not be grounds to expel that student, rather the grounds of expelling a student should be incompetence or misbehavior. As editor of this newspaper, I hope that you seriously reconsider your stand on this issue.
