Profile of the Simon Fraser Health Region The Simon Fraser Health Region (SFHR) is the new regional authority having responsibility for health services to one of British Columbia’s largest and fastest growing population centres. The Simon Fraser Health Region was among the first Regional Authorities to be designated by the Ministry of Health. The initial amalgamations included the three acute care hospitals formerly operated as The Fraser-Burrard Hospital Society (Royal Columbian Hospital, Eagle Ridge Hospital and Ridge meadows Hospital) and the extended care hospitals operated by the Pacific Health Care Society (Queens Park and Fellburn).
