Scoliosis
Everyone has natural curves. Theses curves round our shoulders and make our back curve slightly inward (Scoliosis. 1998). The curvature is generally mild, but is some cases it can progress into a “C” or “S” shaped curve (Dr. Letko, Lynn T. Scoliosis, or curvature in the spine, is best detected early. 1997). This is called scoliosis, which is a complex deformity of the back that results in the gradual collapse and twisting of the spinal column. Scoliosis is a sideways, or lateral, curve in the spine that is apparent when viewing the spine from behind. A mild degree of scoliosis is common, occurring in up to 50 per cent of the population.
Curves that measure ten degrees or less are considered normal and do not interfere with strength, joint mobility, endurance, or any other body function. They are not true scoliosis, and do not increase the likelihood of developing back pain, ....
