After watching The Candidate, one can understand the reasons political candidates must participate in campaigns. The primary goal of any candidate is to get elected into the office of which one is running for. The Candidate is based onthe election of a politician. Robert Redford plays Jim McKay, a Californian lawyer, asked to run for U.S. Senate. McKay was chosen as a nominee because of his credibility, integrity, name, and his good looks. These characteristics are necessary for candidatessecuring a political office.
