A Winter Storm Winters can be cold and harsh in North Dakota. Many people brave the cold in order to support their families. This is one man's journey through the elements in order to do just that. The temperature has dropped below zero; I can feel the storm coming. The sky is a steel gray with the clouds hanging so low; one feels as if one could touch them. Old Man Winter is here once again, his icy breath covering the landscape with a frosty white coating. The heavy accumulation of ice and snow has made the bare trees look like grotesque skeletons, reaching their bony fingers to the sky. Icicles, resembling stalactites, hang from the roofs of nearby buildings. They will melt when the storm is over and the sun begins to shine, only to form once again when it turns cold.
