Technological advances in today's society have caused people to become "helpless." In William F. Buckley's essay "Why Don't We Complain," he discusses this reality and the consequences of a society primarily made up of "helpless" people.
Buckley describes how American's lifestyles have evolved (or de-evolved). Buckley states that in the past, we were able to solve everyday problems through our own creativeness without having to rely on machinery.
