In the year 1586 when William Shakespeare first came to London, he started working in the Globe Theatre. The Globe Theatre was build up in a octagonal shape: “Better yet, the walls give back the voices as the innes cannot” (White 36). The octagonally shaped outer wall of the theatre enclosed a roofless inner pit into which the stage projected. Around the pit were three galleries, one above the other, the topmost of which was roofed thatch. “The seeing´s better” (White 36).
