Literary Devices in Homer’s Odyssey In Homer’s Odyssey many literary devices are used which make the epic more interesting to the reader. First, Homer begins the story with a frame story in which Zeus and Athena are discussing the story of Agamemnon. This story foreshadows what will happen to Odysseus if he returns home blindly.
