The early morning fog had just begun to rise as we packed the already overloaded Suburban. Though my parents would never approve, we continued to stuff the trunk until only a small crack was left. With my coffee in my left hand and my D.J. / co-pilot on the right, I was ready to embark on what was supposed to be the best trip of my life. We smiled for one last "before" picture and went on our way. Listening to the carefully selected tune of Garth Brooks' "Callin' Baton Rouge," which became our theme song that year, we were on our way to Panama City, Florida for our first spring break trip. We were invincible, with no parents there to tell us what was right or wrong. We had the world by a string and were ready for anything it threw at us.
