Personal Writing: My American Dream I am from Nigeria, a country that is beautiful and filled with wonderful natural resources. I lived in Nigeria with my family, including my mother, father, three sisters and one brother. We were a happy family until social disorder and much unrest invaded my country. As a result, my family as well as other countrymen suffered. We did not have enough food and water--two staples that are necessary for anyone to survive. In addition, diseases and illness became epidemic, especially in the rural areas. Seeing these conditions made me sad, of course; but more than that, the experience taught me to think about what I might do in order to help alleviate some of the suffering.
