Creative Writing: The End Of Grendel The night started out wonderful. The mead-hall looked its best during the evening meal. Food of all sorts were scattered among the vast, wooden table. As the women brought out the many assortments of food they were captivated by the smiles of every man. The bread was freshly made and right out of the oven, the soup was piping hot but that was only the beginning. When the main dish finally arrived everyone had their beer mugs refilled and their knifes sharpened. The aroma filled the room leaving everyone’s mouth watering in anticipation. Out came the roasted pig with an apple in its mouth. Everyone cheered and raised their mugs. Laughter filled the candle lit room, as the men filled their mouths with pig. One by one, with their stomachs full the men dozed off to sleep, with their mug....
