In Crime and Punishment, Fyodor Dostoevsky develops a character with a split personality. Rodion Romanovitch Raskolnikov is a high strung, complex man. Throughout the novel Raskolnikov undergoes many changes brought about by many different things. Dostoevsky uses complementary characters to give Raskolnikov his redemption.
