In the book, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, C.S. Lewis defined Edmund as a dynamic character. He changed tremendously throughout the book. At first, Edmund was selfish, greedy, spiteful, deceitful, and dishonest. However, toward the end he changed and was no longer self-centered and he was quiet.
In the beginning Edmund was very selfish because he left to go with the witch to the castle. The main reason he went was because the witch said that she would make him king of Narnia. He believes her, goes with her, and does not tell any of his brothers or sisters.
