Types of Monsters Monsters are not always easily found. Most people see monsters as big, scary, freaks, so they don’t recognize when a monster is a regular person. Mary Shelley’s book Frankenstein, is a book that shows both types of monsters. The classic monster is Dr. Victor Frankenstein’s creation. The monster that is not always recognized is Dr. Frankenstein himself. Although Dr. Frankenstein and his monster are very different they are similar in the sense that they both classify as a monster. There are two basic types of monsters. I like to refer to them as “storybook” monsters and “real life” monsters.
