I am slow to understand the deep grievances of women. They complain that men have kept all the joys and privileges of the earth for themselves. What joys? What privileges? The right to go eight hours a day, five days a week, twelve months a year, for thirty to forty years to a steel mill or coal mine? The right to drop bombs and die in war? The right to feel every leak in the roof, every gap in the fence, every cough in the engine, as a wound they must mend?
