Many people from all over the world dream of living in America. America has wealth, industry and prosperity and to many people this is happiness. Advancement in industry, however, has not always led to tremendous advancements in living. For some, society has created mass wealth. For most, mass society has created a standard of living that is difficult to maintain. Society had created tremendous grief and hardship for Willy Loman, aggravated by the endless promise. For these reasons, his tragedy was not only due to his personal flaws but also due to the flaws of society.
