People suffer everyday though out their life, and the answer to their suffering is to be responsible for their own actions. Candide's views and beliefs lead one into thinking that his answer to the problem of suffering is optimistic.
Though the reading I collected that he believes in cause and effect. That if something happens, it happens for the best, and causes a positive outcome. No matter how bad a consequence it happened for a reason....
