The Tuskegee Airmen In 1939, many nations of the world were engaged in the Second World War, and the United States was on the brink of entering the war. It was a time of hostility and belligerence between many countries. However amidst the warfare, such hostility was also evident within the United States of America. For many years, African-Americans longed for the day when they would be granted the opportunities that the white man so greedily kept for himself.
