The French and Indian War was also known as the Seven Years War in Europe. It was a war between the British and the allied forces of the French and various Indian tribes. The majority of Indians fought with the French, but one tribe called the Iroquois fought with the British.
The French and Indian war was mostly caused due to colonial rivalries between Great Britain and France. Both Great Britain and France wanted control over the Ohio and Mississippi River valley regions. They wanted control over these regions so they could have the resources and land. The Indians believed that land didn’t belong to anyone and that everyone should share it.
