In the area of family roles we have seen many changes which have occurred, Such as women becoming educated. In the 1950s more women were becoming educated, although the majority of women used colleges and universities as a shortcut to finding husbands, they would then quit school and help their newfound husbands acquire a better education in order to support them both and their children.
Moreover, in view of the fact that most of the men were fighting in the war, and women were left to support their families. They were given equal pay as men.
