In the year 1958 the hunt for gold was strong and people didn't realize how hard it was to pan for gold. The first sign of gold was in the Ralson Creek area with around one hundred men panning for gold. Many of these miners only made twenty-five cents a day. Most of these people didn't strike it rich so they went back home. The left over gold hunters moved to Denver and panned the South Platte making up to ten dollars a day.
In this time many search parties were set up to explore the land for gold mainly to find out if the Rockies have gold in them or not. Some of these people returned home to gather more people to help in the hunt for gold. Some people came and set up towns and sold people plots of land for their cabins. The towns offered security and a community for the prospectors. Some choose that they would go and claim ....
