Andrew Jackson had violated his oath as president, making him a
perfect candidate for impeachment. Even from the start, his presidency was
a question of whether his decisions were based on the interests of the
whole nation or his own personal interests, in search of self- gain. After
examining his actions, it is easy to pronounce that he acted selfish
instead of acting in a manner that would most benefit the nation. As
president, he deliberately disregarded the power of the Judicial branch to
