What Are Values?

their problems. Guns are more easily accessible today. Kids can get a gun
off the street just as easy as buying candy from a store. " Each year, as
many as 225,000 guns are stolen from homes, businesses and vehicles" ( ).
Kids carries guns around because they believe that it commands respect from
their peers and that no one would try to mess with them. Many crimes
committed involves guns. Teenagers commit crimes towards each other and

Personal Values In Today's Society
.... I wonder if this is going to leave an
impression on anyone with an anniversary coming up? Could that be the
intention?
If I want to enjoy work I had better listen to the lite fm 93.9.,
and for lunch I can run out to Arby's for 99 cent roast beef sandwiches,
but only for a limited time. And if those roast beef sandwiches get me
sick I can go to Osco and get some medicine twenty-four hours a day. All
of these ads just came rapid fire. Is this playing upon my need for
instant gratification? Are the adv .....

Violence In Media: You Are What You Watch
.... of criminal forces they cannot control and cannot
understand.
While TV grows rich on violence, the nation is threatened by loss of
self-esteem, fear of crime, and fear of our neighbours. A permanent
impression is made on the innocent minds of young children too young to
read or speak. TV is destroying society's respect for human life. Daniel
Boorstin, librarian of US Congress, said that TV has the power "to conjure
up a self-created reality that can mold public values and influence
behaviour." The Can .....

There Seems To Be A Need For Violence In Society!
.... Big
glory comes when one passes out! YES...here is the hero!
What is the message here? It is, we will like you more since you are
physically stronger, and we will respect you because we are afraid of you.
That is again, a wrong message.
Violence is glorified the most throught media, violent movies, TV
shows and newspaper sensationalism.
Violent movies are born one after another: "Die Hard","The God
Father", "Natural Born Killers", "The Proffesinal", "Pulp Fiction","
Terminator 2", etc.Wh .....

What Is An American?
.... would America be like without the government we have today?
Well, it would be a lot like the Colonial times, and that was not a good
time period to be in. There may be a lot of crime in America, but there
are always more policemen, soldiers, or CIA agents ; it does not matter.
These soldiers and policemen and agents ; they are all modern Americans.
They try to help other people in trouble, and try to make America a better
place for other people to live in.
People like that are what make up America. Th .....

Why Are The Homeless Homeless?
.... one would think that they should be able to
afford a couple of respectable suits or other outfits to wear while
applying and even working for this job of theirs. All they have to do is
poke around a little longer or beg a little more, and that job would be
theirs to enjoy. Keeping these articles of clothing clean would be
difficult, but manageable. If you can't afford a coin operated laundromat
(I'm sure there'd be plenty of left over change from begging), just find
some large, clean puddle of water .....

Why People Dye Their Hair
.... look like a way cool punk rocker,
really trendy, or like your hair grew some major mold. It can depend on the
dye or the way you dye it, or sometimes on pure luck.
Sometimes people dye their hair because they need a change. They're
sick of the brown-haired, boring old person they see in the mirror every
day, and want to add a little spice to their look. It's really hard to be
boring looking when your hair can be seen from a block away. It's a valid
reason to make a change, and seems like a good idea .....

Women's Fashion And Cosmetics
.... the problem with worrying about how you look is that
it drains you of time, money and energy which you could use for other
things. Like pursing a career, reproductive rights, or equal pay for work
of equal value. Or maybe just having fun." It is also money consuming.
Make-up and hair products are expensive. The money used to buy cosmetics
and hair styling products could be spent for more important things. If one
has that much money to give away, why not save it for a college education
or donate it t .....

You Must Have Rules To Be Free
.... of kids
would stay home a lot because they didn't feel like going, probably causing
them to miss a lot of important information. Causing them to fail.
Finally, Think about a sporting event you compete in or participate.
What would it be without rules? It wouldn't be anything. People could
get hurt if certain rules missing. Ever try playing football or soccer
without rules. It usually turns into a blood bath. But with rules it
loses some of its blood but it doesn't lose its fun in playing. I do .....

Privacy Is The Best Policy
.... would learn from their parents that looking through other people's
property is permitted. If parents don't look through their children's room,
then the child can be having problems that parents don't know about. This
could not realistically occur though. Parents can detect problems with the
children, outside of their rooms. If any mental or physical problems are
evident with the children, then the results would show with the children's
interactions with the family. Looking through the children' .....

Why Are We Still Prejudice?
.... an
African American insisting on not being referred to as "Black" but in the
same sentence accusing "Whites" of referring to them asa blacks. We
"Whites" really don't think much of that statement because in all honesty
we are not intimidated by these groups, and with good reason. There is no
direct harm in this attitude that minority groups display in America, but
in my opinion if we continue to let this train of thought continue there is
no limit to how much special privileges these people will demand, .....

Is There A Population Problem?
.... On Earth we have
available approximately 130 million km^2 [50.2 million mile^s2] of ice-free,
fertile and barren land surface. This amount of land left i s continually
being decreased because of an increase of the amount settlement. A food
problem in the world can also be traced to overpopulation. The food
problem is not characterized by a lack of food but a lack in quality of
food. So what is the problem? What are the facts? The United Nations
estimates that the population of the Earth in 2050 could b .....

Segregaton In The United States
.... that
Plessies arguments about the Louisiana law forcing blacks and whites to
ride in separate cars on trains was unconstitutional was wrong. The court
believed that the law was not in conflict with the thirteenth amendment
because forcing blacks to ride on separate trains was not slavery, what
the thirteenth banned. Slavery was involuntary servitude, and the
Louisiana law was forcing no involuntary servitude. The fourteenth
amendment says all people naturalized to the :United States, or people born

Physical Abuse: The inflicting of physical injury upon a child. This may

Feminism
.... "Constructivism, Feminism and Nature: Does
Language Have to In-Form?") It was convenient for a woman to have no
education, but be attractive and get married at a young age. A man to
take care of their needs, but did they really?
With that question, I bring about the topic of feminism. Were
women totally unparalell then with today's working woman? A question
often asked, but never really dissolved. My point in tact would be women
were basically the same emotionally, but had a greater de .....
