The Debate Over Capital Punishment
.... that he or she is planning, and that what happened to another
individual who committed this offence, can also happen to me.
But individuals who commit any types of crime ranging from auto theft
to 1st-Degree Murder, never take into account the consequences of their
actions. Deterrence to crime, is rooted in the individuals themselves.
Every human has a personal set of conduct. How much they will and will not
tolerate. How far they will and will not go. This personal set of conduct
can be made or be .....

Our Prison System Sucks
.... This doesn't sound at all like a prison. A prison is a place
where people are supposed to be punished. Not treated like guests. There
is a fin line between being punished and being over punished however. I'm
not saying that each person should be beaten daily, or made to stay in a
cell by themselves with no one to talk to for an eternity. The person
should be punished according to the crime. "An eye for an eye." This
brings me to the subject of capital punishment. I'm sure some of you are
disgusted .....

The Death Penalty: To Be Or Not To Be...
.... issue to a near frenzy. When asked in January of
this year, " How often do you see reports of violent crime on television ?
" 68 % replied " almost every day ".
Although the media have played an important role in raising the
public's awareness of lawlessness, crime in America is far from a media -
created phenomenon. Government statistics support the image of a nation
which has overwhelmingly lost the war against crime. For instance, in 1960
there were 161 reported violent crimes per 100,000 peo .....

Drink Up - Drunk Driving Should Be Legalized
.... would also improve the quality of
life for those who choose not to drink. Currently people who have been
drinking are legally required to use some form of transportation other than
them operating a motor vehicle. This requires them to hang around where
they are and get a ride with someone else or wait or some public
transportation. With the legalization of driving while drunk the non-
drinking population would not need to be bothered by drunk people that do
not have rides. Finally, this would help stim .....

Gun Control
.... has been held throughout the ages? If we do
this, are we any better than our previous rulers who used control as an
excuse for oppression?
The opposition of gun rights say that the amendment states that The
Second Amendment was never intended as a gun license for the entire
American populace. As originally drafted—and as consistently interpreted by
the courts for more than a century—the Amendment does not grant any blanket
right to own a gun nor does it stand in the way of rational, effective g .....

New Gun Control Policy Is Needed
.... ill person, alien, or a fugitive from
justice. Some laws require prospective gun buyers, to get a purchase
permit, which comes with applicant passing all background checks. A few
states even require that all persons possessing guns must have a license to
do so, even in their homes. Some states don't ban guns from addicts. This
is a problem. Gun concelation isn't the same in each state. Also it is
commonly unlawful to fire a gun within city limits or in other congested
urban areas. These are some of the c .....

Inform About Sex Offenders: Yes Or No?
.... offender is free.
I feel that the police department has an obligation to make sure
everybody that wants to know about the half way house does. It shouldn't
matter who lives in the house. They just got out of prison, so they must
have committed some sort of bad crime. Nowadays it is hard to actually go
to prison unless you commit such a bad crime as murder or rape-murder. If
the Mrs. Kanka had warned her children about that place this might not have
ever happened. Also why give a person who might actu .....

Juvenile Delinquency

robbery to running away from home. But an action for which a youth may be
declared a delinquent in one community may not be against the law in
another community. In some communities, the police ignore many children
who are accused of minor delinquencies or refer them directly to their
parents. But in other communities, the police may refer such children to a
juvenile court, where they may officially be declared delinquents. Crime
statistics, though they are often incomplete and may be misleadin .....

Illegial Aliens

7-11? Once an American dream, before the Illegal Aliens came into the

surface. . . But no!! the cashier can only say, "Thank you, come again" in
a bad accent. You've probably also taken an extensive trip once or twice
along a barren interstate. But before leaving, you want to make sure your
family doesn't starve on the journey. So you dri .....

Letter Regarding Young Offenders And Threat Of Public Exposure
.... the effects of their crimes. This will also have,
hopefully, some effect on the parents too, who will be forced to be more
strict and control their children because, as the ministers believe,
parents are the key to reforming youngsters' behaviour. And that has to be
done before they grow up, because there will be no conrolling them then.So
no more anonymity, and no more "Blitz Boy" kind of nicknames which only
glorify the young troublemakers and make them look like heroes, but full

Drugs In Sports
.... they are only held every 4 years, represent
the pinnacle of sporting achievement. The International Olympic Committee
(IOC) has a critical role to play in demanding extensive drug testing and
in providing funding for such testing.
This is a controversial issue. The IOC believes that each of the
international federations which governs particular sports should be
responsible for its own testing.
This seems reasonable enough, but it is argued that the Olympic Games are
the highest profile competition in .....

Should Handguns Be Legal To All
.... feel it is extremely easy for just about anyone to get access
to a handgun. The laws in some states don't require a waiting period ,
several forms of identification, or even a back round check. Anti-gun
users feel that if handguns are illegal it may not be impossible for
criminals to obtain them but it would be much more difficult. If that were
true some believe there will be a drastic decrease in gang violence and
armed robbery.
The ultimate argument pro-gun users have is the second amendment

Teen Violence And Its Causes

As the years go by, we see a higher and higher divorce rate. As
this rate goes up, so does the crime rate. Couples today have forgotten
the word commitment. As a result of this, the children suffer. It is hard
to grow up with separated parents. Most children become bitter or angry as
they grow because of their divorced parents. In some cases the parents
fight or argue which can affe .....
