Is Capital Punishment Biblical?
.... here
than the preservation of criminals.
Capital punishment is never used legitimately in the New Testament.
Jesus' constant preaching of love and forgiveness shows his contempt for the
harming of others. One example of love is found in John 15:17 “This is my
command: Love each other.” An example of forgiveness is Matthew 6:14 “For if
you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also
forgive you.”
Jesus practiced what he preached by not condemning guilty persons. In
John 8:1- .....

Date Rape
.... within a
college campus, is when both the man and women are drunk. In an environment such
as a college or university, parties are commonplace for students. It is a place
where friends can gather, listen to loud music, and get loaded. Typically, a man
will coerce a woman back to his apartment or dorm. This is dangerous for both
parties. The man may think that the woman is leading him on, that if she agrees
to go with him that it is an invitation to have sex. If the female seems to be
enjoying kissing .....

Marijuana: Opponent's Factual Brief
.... the idea that marijuana for the majority of its users was not
detrimental to the health of the users brain, immune or reproductive system. In
looking at all the reports that are published there are perhaps, random studies
which may indicate greater toxicity of the drug. But in all of these cases, the
research was flawed or inaccurate since the findings cannot be duplicated by
other scientists.
Contention I: Marijuana does not damage brain cells.

The Drinking Age: 21 For Everyone?

21 are hard to enforce. Even if they are enforced by the authorities, the
establishment that breaks that law is rarely punished severely. For example, in
Belmont County in Ohio, the police conducted raids of 5-10 different
establishments in 1993 that had liquor licenses and reportedly to sell alcoholic
beverages to minors. It was proven that each business in question had indeed
been guilty of the charges. What would one suspect happen to the business?
Wouldn't one expect for them to .....

Capital Punishment
.... and to other specified crimes that result in a person's death. These
crimes include armed robbery, hijacking, and kidnapping.
Many countries, including most European and Latin-American nations, have
abolished the death penalty since 1900 - including Canada, which did so in 1976.
In the early 1990's, the United States was the only Western industrialized
nation where executions still took place.
History
Capital punishment was common among all ancient civilizations. It was used
for a variety .....

Corporal Punishment Is Physical Abuse
.... wicked crimes. It has been shown that many adults
in England want the restoration of corporal punishment for certain crimes,
hoping that it will effect the reaction against an ever increasing amount of
crime.
The use of corporal punishment on children has also dropped sharply. In
many school systems of the United States, for example, corporal punishment has
been outlawed, it is also illegal in countries such as Sweden, Finland, Denmark
and Norway.
Corporal punishment for certain offences .....

Murder
.... punishment is among those instances of justified killing that has been
debated for years, and continues to be an extremely indecisive and complicated
issue. Adversaries of capital punishment point to the Marshalls and the
Millgards, while proponents point to the Dahmers and Gacys. Society must be kept
safe from the monstrous barbaric acts of these individuals and other killers by
taking their ability to function and perform in our society away from them. At
the same time, we must insure that .....

Opposing The Death Penalty
.... it must
understand that death is not a pretty thing. Criminals are painlessly put to
sleep, and die in the same manner that Dr. Kavorkian's patients choose.
Personally, if I was faced with the option of living the remainder of my life in
isolation, perpetually haunted by pain and images of terror, I would absolutely
chose to die by lethal injection. There is no true punishment in this method,
except the fear of going to hell, which I strongly doubt is of much concern to
most convicts on death row. .....

Serial Killers
.... everyday people with
everyday lives, but they just have one problem, they have a need to kill.
What does a serial killer do? Serial killers usually have reasons for
killing, they just don't go out and kill anyone (the majority). A serial killer
will plan out where, when, why, and how before they actually kill. Ted Bundy
used to lure his victims with a phony cast on his leg. Others lured with the
promise of sex or porno movies. When they kill they usually have their own
style. The Son of Sam used a . .....

Serial Killers In The U.S
.... individual. While the mass killer may kill
many people in one attack, when the attack is over, their mission is complete.
The mass killer's victims may not be chosen for any other reason than being in
the wrong place at the wrong time.
Serial killers are a totally different and more dangerous threat to society.
They may not kill many people at one time, but they may kill for many years
without being detected. They are able to kill again and again without being
caught because they are careful in th .....

The Death Penalty: A Necessary Evil
.... can be turned around, but the life
taken away by the murderer can never be given back. They should therefore be
given a harsher punishment than life in prison. In terms of justice, we should
all get what we deserve.
One argument against the death penalty is that the bible tells us not to
murder. If this includes all people it should include the government. However,
the death penalty is not quite the same as murder. It is an exacting of justice.
Consequently, the Bible also says, Ran eye fo .....

Vicodin, a very strong painkiller (Plummer 129 ). Favre had problems because
of Vicodin. Favre suffered a seizure in February while in surgery to repair a
broken bone. The seizure resulted from the abuse of the painkiller (Howard 1).
Favre states, “I went to Topeka, because the pills had gotten the best of me”

he going to die?” (qtd. in Plummer 129). He not .....

Date Rape
.... A lot of these reasons having to do with
how American kids are raised. Boys are brought up thinking they are strong and
aggressive, while on the other hand, girls are brought up being passive and
"what you say goes" (Shuker-Haines and Stark 23) . This shouldn't be going on
in our society...not with the advancements we have made in our country.
It is sometimes said that the woman who was the victim of rape shared fault for
the rape for wearing a skirt too short, or maybe if she stops over at his .....

Rape
.... the sociology of rape in order to effectively work towards the
elimination of it.
Despite the necessity for rape prevention, it must focus on eliminating
the conditions in society which make women easy targets for rape. Victim
control teaches women to avoid rape, but doesn't reduce the threat of rape.
Furthermore, rape cannot always be avoided, no matter what precautions the woman
takes. It also puts part of the responsibility and blame for rape on the victim.
Rapist control confuses prosecutions .....

Argument For Keeping Repeat Offenders In Jail
.... There will be less need to build, maintain, and expand existing staff if
there are fewer prisoners. But how much more can we cut these sentences, aren't
they short enough already? The average jail sentence is seven years and eleven
months, but the actual average time served is two years and eleven months. I
think there are better ways to save money. For example, we should cut back on
the funding of foreign governments. We have plenty of our own problems in the
United States that we need to take car .....
