.... and spoke passionately and publicly of the need for Christians to work for justice, frequently faced with threat and danger from those who opposed his ideas. On March 24, 1980, while celebrating the Eucharist, Archbishop Romero was shot and killed at the altar by a death squad assassin, paying the highest price for the commitment about which he spoke so often and so eloquently. Because of his courageous stand for justice, he became a martyr not only for poor Salvadorians but for all struggling to over .....

Othello 10
.... when it passes, all shall be well. An example of such can be found in the play Othello when we read "I pray you be content. ‘Tis but his humor./The business of the state does him offense./"
(Shakespeare, IV, ii, 164-65)
Another is apparent during the same conversation when Iago tells Desdemona "Go in weep not. All things shall be well."
(Shakespeare, IV, ii, 169)
By telling Desdemona that all shall be well is the equivalent of saying that the problems in her marriage have .....

Othello 6
.... as well as referring to Othello as a Barbary horse (I, i, 112) - Which is degrading him to the level of a filthy animal.
As was mentioned before, jealousy is also one of the reasons behind Iago’s hatred. His behaviour and speech indicates clearly that he is jealous of success (Othello becoming a general, Cassio becoming his second-in-command) as well as the happiness of Othello and Desdemona. An example of this is crying out to Brabantio that ...your daughter and the Moor are now making .....

Othello 7
.... sees them all as animals. Consequently, Iago’s inability to see the virtue that exists in individuals illustrates the dominance of the animalistic nature in his soul.
In the playwright, Iago attempts to bring down all of the people around him to the same level of existence as himself, the animal. “O, beware, my lord, of jealousy! It is the green eyed monster,” (III, iii, 165-166) In that scene, Iago carefully baits the beast that exists within Othello to show itself. It is only until h .....

Othello 8
.... that is all she needs. She doesn’t look for emotional support in a man; Emilia tends to look to other woman for that kind of support. In Emilia’s opinion, men are useless for anything other than sex. “Let husbands know their wives have sense like them, they see, and smell, and have their palates both for sweet and sour as husbands have. (4,3,92)” Out of this quote one can see that she believes that sex is all men want from woman as will. She believes that sex is the only thing a .....

Othello 9
.... without a prompter" (I, ii, lines 80-3). The power shown here is quite astounding. The nature of Othello's character is of a dark man. A dark man, not only because he is black, but also because his whole person is very mysterious. He is mysterious in that he believes there is magic brewing everywhere. With this dark side he is also very outgoing, and not very bright. It is almost too easy for Iago to trick him into believing that Desdemona is unfaithful. Though he doesn't reflect too much on his pa .....

Othello The Tragic Hero
.... of other individuals. Othello has a trusting nature in which he gives it all. He put all his trust in Iago during times of war and during Othello's marriage to Desdemona. Everyone considered Iago as honest, and it would be out of character for Othello to believe any different. For example, Othello had told Duke:
"So please your grace, my ancient; A man he is of honesty and trust. To his conveyance I assign my wife, with what else needful your good grace shall think, To be sent after me" .....

Othello Vs. Twelfth Night
.... skin of hers than snow, and smooth as monumental alabaster.” (Othello, V.ii 3-5)He then proceeds to choke or smother her to death. The theme of love in Othello changed from puppy love, the lighter side of love, to jealousy, the darkest side of love.
In stark contrast to the dark and tragic “Othello,” is one of Shakespeare’s lightest and funniest comedies, “Twelfth Night.” The theme of love is presented in a highly comical manner. Shakespeare, however, onc .....

Othello-values And Attitudes
.... She spoke of them as “Negars and Moors which are crept into the realm, of which kind of people there are already here too many”. It seems that Shakespeare is almost mocking the Queen by characterising Othello as a black man who has a high ranking position in the Army and who marries a white aristocratic women, against her fathers will.
Ruth Cowlig suggests that the presentation of Othello as the hero must have been startling for Elizabethan audiences. This may have been the case, but through .....

Our Grandmothers By Maya Angel
.... fear; everything that one could think of to enhance the setting of a plantation. Reading this poem is an escape from modern day life. As readers, we observe everything that the narrator and the main character experience. To fulfill the imagination of the readers, Maya Angelou concentrates primarily as to how the readers are going to interpret certain events. Secondly, the setting was also illustrated through imagery when the narrator says, “She stands before the abortion clinic, / confounded by the .....

Our Town Analysis 2
.... does not need to go into dull descriptions which are not too pleasing.
The atmosphere is very obvious in this play because it is one of the most prominent factors in the play itself. In the first act the dominant mood is happiness because everybody is pursuing their normal activities and gossiping and the first act is used to introduce the characters for us to know their attitudes. In the second act the action is sped up and there is a special event which is marriage involves George and Emily. E .....

Our Town By Thornton Wilder
.... returns to the cemetery, finding the whole experience saddening, as she realises the waste her life has been, taking everything for granted, not cherishing the smallest of treasures. Emily accepts death.
Throughout this seemingly simple plot Wilder illustrates the relationship of the individual to the vastness of the universe, in fact, it is the simplicity of the plot that allows this topic to be addressed.
I have been offered the position of a director of this play, and will further discuss .....

Out Of The Silent Planet By C.
.... of inner meaning. It talks about the dark side of humanity. Filled with comedy, action, suspense and science fiction. But though it's not a very long book, it really doesn't need to be.
The plot was uncertain at times but overall was detailed enough to present the over all struggle of one mans' journey through the cosmos. The transitions from one chapter to the next were very well organized. Through many weeks passes in the book, it seamed to flow into one seamless efficiently written story.
