Renaissance Poetry

Pure and perfect enough to inhabit the world of fantasy that made up his ideal of love, she is a goddess on earth. He does so through his use of superfluous language and rich images of decadence, women become pieces of art to be eaten with only the senses.

Balthasar and Abraham by biting his thumb at him. This leads to a

Once the murder has been committed, eventually Banquo has his suspicions about Macbeth killing Duncan to have power of the throne. widow most likely wants to get on with her life, but

The Waste Land
.... The last
line of "He who was living is now dead" shows the passing of the
primal ceremony; the connection to it that was once viable is now
dead. The language used to describe the event is very rich and vivid:
red, sweaty, stony. These words evoke an event that is without the
cares of modern life- it is primal and hot. A couple of lines later
Eliot talks of "red sullen faces sneer and snarl/ From doors of
mudcracked houses" (ll. 344-345). These lines too seem to contain

The Wierd Sisters In Macbeth
.... him his title of Thane of Cawdor. Then, to set the first part of their plan in motion, they called him king. Macbeth appeared very perturbed at the mention of this because the only way he could be king would be if Duncan died. To think of such blasphemy was punishable by death. So he held his peace. Then, Ross came by and delivered the good news. Now the witches had Macbeth's trust.
The important thing to realize is that the witches had very carefully planned out their actions. The witches knew Macbeth .....

The Worries Of Aging
.... he is in love with is younger than he is and this is emotionally painful for him. He does not believe that some younger women could possibly accept him or find him attractive. To express any kind of affection or attraction toward her is awkward and difficult for him. Lines 79-80, “Should I, after tea and cakes and ices, have the strength to force the moment to its crisis?” reflects how he suppresses an urge to express affection.
