The Hobbit: A Review
.... last climax (or what is supposed to be the climax) takes a long time to
occur (the last fight—good (men, elves, dwarves & eagles) vs. evil (wargs &
goblins)) and this reduces its effectiveness. After the climax there is the long
return home. It is quite boring since there is nothing to expect to and the
reader knows that the hobbit would get home safely. In my opinion it should
have been shorter.

The Island Of Dr. Moreau

major turning point for the story. Roaming free, these beast-people are highly
intelligent with murderous instincts. Their thirst for blood is pacified
through a combination of sedatives and shock discipline. But events triggered
by Prendick's unexpected arrival are about to break Moreau's God- like
domination over these resentful creatures.

The struggle between the marlin is a beautiful depiction of courage and
resilience, but I begin to wonder who is hooked into who. The old man and the
fish are one and their lives become connected through that line as they live
each moment according to the other's actions. Even the old man is not sure who
is better, him or the marlin, and he mentions several times they are not that
different. And whether or not the sharks ate his fish, it only matters that the
