The Man In The Park
.... shoes had taken him to many different places. They were like an old friend that he couldn’t say goodbye to.
On this particular day the sun was shining down, warming the earth and lake, so many children played on the wooden swing set. From where I stood on the path, I could hear their cheerful shouts, but could not see them. What I could see was the old man’s face. He had strong features: a broad nose, deep-set eyes, and pronounced cheekbones. They had all sunken into a deep sea of wrinkles over th .....

Have Another Beer
.... the kind of drunk you want at every party. He has everyone on the floor, rolling in hysterics. He has people crying because they are laughing so hard. Fred likes to have an audience of at least five people. The group seems to grow as everyone hears what he is saying. Fred loves to tell jokes that he’s heard all week, and make wise cracks at the rest of the drunks. Fred can often be seen doing stupid things like spilling his drink or tripping over his own feet. It is sometimes hard to understand .....

Rituals
.... have alot of power. If they really don’t, we could just not tell them and pretend we do. They would never know the difference anyway.
When we got to the truck, I ask mom if Jake and I could ride in the back.
“Its too cold to ride back there! You’ll freeze to death! And what if we wreck? There aren’t any seat belts back there!” she yelled back. I was hoping she wouldn’t yell like this. Then dad butted in.
“What are you two talking about? Why do I always get left out of the conversation .....

Finding Aviation In A Boy's Heart
.... off a feeling that a person has to have privileges to walk them.
When we finally reached our seats, the seat belt signs turned on. I quickly hopped into the window seat and buckled my seatbelt. Soon the soothing voice of a flight attendant was giving instructions over the intercom on emergency procedures. I began to hear the whining of the engines, and with a clunk, we began moving. As the plane began to roll backwards, the captain announced on the intercom how long the trip would be.
When the .....

Celebration Of My 21st Birthday
.... so close, we usually eat only with our boyfriends. Although this is true, it was still I comfortable, fun atmosphere where we could joke around. It was not necessary for my friends' boyfriends to show up to this party, but, it seemed that they were mere accompaniment to my friends.
On this night, we all changed out of our class gear of old, comfortable t-shirts and dirty, blue jeans, and wore the best of our casual clothing. For me that meant my tight black pants, light purple, cashmere sweater, a .....

My First Airplane Trip
.... and my heart was racing. By the time we were in line to get our boarding passes, I knew I had to go through with it, there was no turning back then. When we boarded the plane, I thought I was going to get sick. The flight was booked solid, and to make matters worse, my boyfriend couldn't sit next to me. He had to sit two rows behind me on the other side of the plane.I thought to myself, this couldn't possibly get any worse. I kept looking back at him and he kept saying everything is fine, I'm righ .....

Our Father-Son Relationship
.... during physical actions. A fine example is that he would never miss one of my football games but would not interact in any other activities with me.
Our relationship now is a lot better than ever after getting some major counseling. After a counseling session, my father came up to me with tears coming from his eyes, saying, “I love you.” I can also remember his putting his tree trunk arms around me, hugging so tight, not letting go. Since counseling, we talk all the time and go many p .....

Not Having Enough Money
.... your seat in the lounge again still very thirsty.
One time I went out with my cousin to a Chinese restaurant for some dinner. The place was packed with people, so we had to wait for a seat. After about ten minutes the waiter called my name and directed us to our seat. We opened up the menu and our eyes just focused on the prices, everything was around fourteen to twenty dollars. My cousin checked his pocket and I checked mine, for how much we had, and together we had $35.00. We were so worried that we .....

Just Another Saturday Night?
.... one, without fail. I watched as Andrew skillfully skated the mini-ramp. He rode with a smooth style. I watched his arms, spread out, as he balanced. I followed with my eye the cigarette in his right hand as it glowed, spearing through the night.
I ran up the ramp and crouched down next to Matt, Eddie, Gavin and Jared. They all yelled my name as Matt tackled me to the floor of the platform. I tripped Matt over and rolled across next to Eddie. I grabbed his bottle of Tequila and took a swig, the sal .....

Vietnam
.... my family, and especially Abbey. I am constantly numb with the fear that I will have to kill another human being, or worse I myself will be shot and killed. How could my family and Abbey deal with this? Everyone here hates the war and just wants to go home to their families. Everyday dozens of men are shot or killed by land mines, and I am really becoming depressed. I have seen so many men die just inches away from me. All I can think of is that could be me. I have come to the conclusion that war is the mo .....

My Car Accident
.... and the front fenders were fractured with cracks everywhere. Officer Gage started to take my report :”I was adjusting my rear view mirror when I saw the flash of white, I realized it was a car and tried to brace myself if could not find a way around or to stop. He struck me and I don’t recollect hitting the driver in front of me.” All the other drivers had the same story and we exchange licenses and insurance cards.
Feeling a little uneasy about driving I got back into my car and drove back to Hemet, .....

Creative Writing: The Cure To AIDS
.... them.
Triumphant cries filled the room. Everybody was extremely satisfied with the results, especially I. I was shouting: “I made it! I really made it!”
That was only the first test and was followed by a series of painstaking animal and human experiments. Fortunately all of them proved successful.
The agent I discovered was an antidote to HIV-the virus that causes AIDS. It was called DAA- Dessy AIDS Antidote and blocked the reproduction of HIV in human cells. Thus it was the most effective drug .....

The Hurt Of Others
.... we, promised we would get together over the summer. I called him once or twice, but we were unable to get together. When I entered grade ten, I found I was making more new friends, forgetting about Fred. Later I had found Fred had buried himself with crime, getting into a lot of trouble.
One day I saw Fred sitting on a bench by himself. I approached him with an uneasy walk..... " Fred..," I said.
" Colin!" he exclaimed. We talked for about half an hour, forgetting I had to be in class. Afte .....

Of All People, I Survived
.... our house, where I lived with my family. Our house was the best structured on the street. It was a house the right size to fit us all in. The house was built with wood that’s nails that were hung lose but strong enough to hold on for another winter or so. The ceilings were cracked and wet from the rain during winter, which then leaked through into our house. My siblings and I shared a room together. Rebecca slept beside me, and Zareh slept on a separate bed. My parents slept on a king size bed, whic .....

My Friend T.W.
.... is that if I had a dollar for every freckle on his body it would be palm trees and coconuts from here on out. Red headed is just a polite way of saying, are you sure your not Irish? Nevertheless, he has always been and still is one of the most intelligent people I have ever met. This is the type of kid who made A’s in every class and couldn’t wait to get home and do his homework. (The one area we differ in.) As for his character, I again have met very few people in this lifetime that values this trai .....
