Creative Writing: The Missed Fly Ball
.... it to the first basemen. The throw was not any
better then the catch. It landed 5 feet short and by the time the first basemen
recovered the runner had rounded third base and was at least halfway home. The
runner did score on a close play at the plate. The run gave the other team a
two run advantage going into the sixth inning, which was the last in midget
league. I knew at this point I was going to have a hard time facing the other
guys on the team after this big let down. It also made me decide .....

Creative Writing: The Most Important Day Of My Life
.... We did not know if the glue would ignite it or not
so we tested it out on a small sample of black powder. The glue did not ignite
the black powder, so we filled up the pipe with hot glue. We then screwed the
steal cap back on the pipe with the fuse sticking out. We were done with making
the bomb.
Last we decided what did we want to do with it now that it was done.
All of us were in a destructive mood at the time. So we ended up going out in
the middle of the woods where no one lived for 10 miles. .....

Creative Writing: There Isn't Much Time
.... bad grades. As his friend, I knew he was doing fine until the period
of final exams. He was a smart and responsible person which laziness is not a
factor of his bad grades. Eric could not pick up the books soon enough before
the exam because he was afraid of failure. Since Eric's older brothers had
achieved excellence academic records and great careers, Eric' parents expected
him to follow his brothers' foot step. As the result, Eric was afraid to try
because he feared to fail his parents' expectation. Whe .....

Creative Writing: This Girl
.... out of this country many
times. The dreams I have after I sleep with this woman are so incredible that it
makes me a little crazy the next day.
Why do my parents keep bothering me? I can hold my own now. I am mature,
I am a man. I do get distracted real easily and my parents keep ruining my
distraction, I am upset because of that. I have my own apartment in Santa Cruz,
I live in a pardise. California has it all, beautiful beaches, pretty girls,
great bars, money, palm trees, and tons of smog. Can't .....

Why I Hate The Mall
.... has very much become a part of American life. The Chinese have their rice,
we have our malls. Does anyone else see a problem with having over one-thousand
of these gaudy monstrosities across the country? Despite the fact that the era
of eighties-decadence has passed, the malls keep coming, and they keep getting
bigger. It's like something out of an Ed Wood flick.
I remember reading an article about how bad it's gotten. The largest
mall in America has 425 retail shops, 4.2 million square feet of s .....

Creative Writing: A Day At The Park
.... less believe my luck.
After I got off work , and picked up the tickets, I raced home to get
my wife and son ready to go. Over the next half hour, I almost regretted
having to bring my son, what with the hassle of getting the diaper bag packed ,
the traffic, and fighting the crowds while pushing a stroller. It was hectic,
but I survived.
Finally we were situated and ready for the game. The singing of the
national anthem was finished and we were waiting for the first pitch. All of a
sudden i .....

Creative Writing: A Dream Come True
.... stop with my briefcase. My tie flew in the
morning wind. Only thing that I hoped was that I would not be late to work, I
had been warned couple of times about me being late. Luckily the bus too was
late as usual.
As I was boarding the bus I looked up for a vacant seat. What I saw then
was quite unbelievable. Instead of looking for an empty seat I was perving on a
beautiful woman. She looked to be in her early 20s. The most outstanding feature
she had was her attractive blue eyes. Her clear eyes did really .....

Alone With Nature
.... pry yourself away from the immense meadow, still filled with many
unexplored treasures and turn back into the foliage covered depths of the forest.
The sun is comfortably placed in front of the cotton candy clouds, in the midst
of the soft blue sky. The occasional bird soars through in a last minuet attempt
to catch a worm so it may feed the yearning mouths of it's young. The rough dirt
trail ends and you are brought to the base of a rock. Your feet reach for the
unfamiliar footholds of t .....

Personal Writing: An-Yang
.... mouth watered in anticipation of the savories to
come.
One particular afternoon, after we had finished eating, we draped ourselves
around her living room. I was sitting on a dilapidated couch, whose colors were
made indiscernible by time, and was looking around her room. My gaze swept from
the thin, worn carpet, bare in some places, to the scarred wooden dresser, to a
dirty doll with an eye missing. (My grandmother could never bear to throw
anything away). She came and sat down next to me, taking my ha .....

Difficulty In Making An Important Decision
.... or not being able to find a new job. These
possibilities made me feel uncomfortable and insecure. If I failed or could
not find a new position, what would my family think of me? Failing at a new
career would also cause me to lose confidence in myself. These concerns,
failure and financial, and not finding a new job made this decision very
difficult.
The decision to choose a new career was an extremely important one. The sole
function of a career is not just to provide a means to make a living; .....

Creative Writing: An Unforgivable Choice

Creative Writing: Apocalypse At The Nuclear Plant
.... across his face.
Jarvis lead Pete over to the main testing area. "We discovered this
late last night. Seems one of the plutonium pieces is…," he paused with a gulp,
"changing."
"Changing?!?!"
"You better believe it because it took me an hour to comprehend what is
going on."
"What exactly IS going on?"
Jarvis explained in his own special slightly whiny voice that he chose
to break out only in large meetings but decided to give Pete the thrill of
hearing now. One of the experimental pieces of plutoni .....

The "Around The World" Party At College
.... I immediately knew it was in the corner because of the crowd surrounding it.
Once I reached the keg, I found myself waiting once again for my beer. The
person who was filling up the cups was not filling them first come first serve.
He would fill the cups of his friends first, then the girls, and then if he had
to fill up his own cup he would. While doing this he was talking his friend
whose job it was to pump the keg when needed. People were sticking their cups
in front of the tap as if they were fighti .....

of our time. These things are very expensive and only royalty such as ourselves
can afford such a luxury.
LAUREN: Say, do you know what's for dinner tonight?
JADIE: Silly girl! Its what we have every night in the castle Ingvey,
Everything! A feast of huge proportions. Bread, cheese, meat, fish, vegetables…
all made fresh by the peasants this morning. Yes, what a glorious time to live.
LAUREN: And you people (looking at the class) would you care to join us

Personal Writing: A Schoolyard Lesson

down the hall to room 212, where I sat down in the front row. I turned around
and took a quick peak at the class; scanning the room for someone to talk to.
When I saw no opportunities I began to get a bit timid, but as soon as the bell
rang I felt all right.
We went through the motions for awhile: filling out paper work,
introducing ourselves, all the first day stuff. I heard a few kids say they
were new to the area, of which Brian Vedder was the only boy. He wasn't much to
look at, not a soap .....
