During the time between 1946 and 1951 the radio market was over taken by
the demand for televisions. Over 3 million sets had been sold by 1951.

The TV Generation
.... a very controlling yet
entertaining appliance. Teenagers have always been free-spirited in any
generation. We are always doing and saying childish things while trying to grow
up. If we only have a couple years of our childhood left then who cares if we
spend it in front of a TV? Which is not to say that we do that anyhow. Perhaps
we use the TV as a way of relaxing before we go off and hit the books for two

TV Violence And Children

Transformers and the Ninja Turtles, who engage in the destructive acts of
violence by fighting our real life social problems. With acts of violence, kids
learn to think that's how they should solve their problems. MTV's Beavis and
Butt-head encourages fire, smoking, foul language, drinking and stealing. With
these bad attitudes seen depicted as normal on TV shows kids are lead to

Violence In The Media
.... as desensitized as we are, and that's a good thing. It is
a sad fact that we find violence so entertaining, but hell, it is. I freaking
love to see movies where there are more scenes of mindless violence than there
are actual scenes of acting. These movies are aimed at the lowest common
denominator because intelligent movie goers are as extinct as the Dodo bird.
Movies like Showgirls make more money than Panther because they are more fun,

Minstrels
.... were not part
of a noble's homestead, traveled from town to town providing entertainment not
only to noble classes but also to common village folk as well.
There were not many forms of entertainment, nor was there a means for
people to learn about news events. There was no television or radio in medieval
times. Even books were very scarce. Minstrels served to entertain the public.
They made up songs, stories, and repeated ballads and folk tales popular during

Chivalry
.... not attack an unarmed knight - allow him to arm himself
first, if you unhorse your opponent and your opponent is still able to fight,
get off your horse to fight, etc. - fair play with honor and respect. At the end,
there still was a winner, and the winner ended up with more respect and
admiration from those concerned that had he fought without chivalry. What am I
getting at? Capitalism can be much the same way. American businesses have taken
