Chesterton's "On Lying In Bed": Understanding Human Nature
.... his object of desire in a
rather ordinary place.
In a similar way, people in today's society can find their desires
in places that are rather customary. We, however, are not looking for a
place to paint. In the many items we covet, many can be found in regular
locations. Frequently, we look in unusual places for these items, when
they are actually located directly "under our nose." This shows the first
part of the human nature presented by G.K. Chesterton.
The second part of Chesterton's essay d .....

to three dice (depending on how large his army is) and the defender rolling
up to two. The dice are paired up (attackers highest with defenders
highest, etc.) and the higher die of ea .....

the afternoon. I think more student should take advantage of this.
When you are a teenager, it is said you feel immortal. This may
hold true in some instances. Students might approach a stoplight, and
decide to race the engine, when next to another classmate. Or races might
ensue, that endanger the student and, the other citizens on the roads.
This is not to say, that im really excited about receiving my

Persuasive Essays Are Bad Assignments
.... do was to refuse to write a persuasive essay ever again. I faced
a kind of moral paradox with this, though. If I wrote a persuasive essay
telling people not to write persuasive essays, what kind of example would I
be? I was convinced that I was not going to do this paper, but in a
showing of my own lack of will, I was bribed into writing this essay. (I
find myself getting bribed into doing a lot of schoolwork these days.) I
realize that teachers would be angry about this somewhat counterproductive

Persuasive Speaking

whatever they were doing before you interrupted them. To keep people's
attention you have to talk in language that they understand, and find a
compromise between shouting at them and quietly asking for attention.
After you get an audiences attention and are able to keep their

whatever you want with the power of your voice; you just have to make them
think that they'll like it or gain something from i .....

were in some kind of casino Mafia. As if that weren't bad enough there was
crime going on everywhere in the casino. this is very similar to real life
because there have always been reports of crimes that tourists themselves

tourist's belongings were stolen from their own room by the maids that were
supposed to clean his room. If gambling is so fun, then why is there so
much crime where gambling is legal .....

Plato Vs. Nietzsche: The Nature Of Good
.... he ought only to consider whether in doing
anything he is doing right or wrong - acting the part of a Good man or of a
bad." From his writings in "The Cave" and the "Apology," Plato shows his
belief in an absolute, unalterable Good which man should prize above all
else.
Conversely, Nietzsche feels that there are two different sets of
morality dependent on class, meaning that the nature of good is relative.
Nietzsche outlines these two systems of morality in "Good and Evil
Reconsidered." The noble man, ac .....

beauty. Beauty was revered by Poe, he worshipped it in all its' manifests.
Poe used beauty in almost all of his poems, often to describe a woman. In

the objects of his affection. The beauty of the women in these poems was
tremendous, not only physically but spiritually. Poe saw beauty in all

they do to their parents. The children are free from prejudice and

the story "The Martyr's Corner", the lack of education does not mean a poor
and unhappy life for Rama, who was said to be "earning more money than
graduates". At times, exte .....

Self-Expression

if a person clenches his or her hands, it might mean that the person is

I pump my fist with excitement. If students are really bored or tired,

Another example of hand gestures is the middle finger. People use the
middle finger when they are mad or angry. For instance, if I were driving
